Accommodation

Comfort and warmth, combining a crofting heritage with quality modern living, form the heart of The Smiddy. Our aim is to provide you with an unforgettable Hebridean experience.

The accommodation comprises an open-plan living/kitchen/dining area with large window affording uninterrupted, panoramic views of the machair and sunsets beyond. Underfloor heating and a gas-fired stove provide warmth. A music system and TV are available for indoor entertainment, although many guests choose to sit back and watch ‘Farm TV’.

The bedroom area is furnished with a superking bed which can form two single beds, as required, and a Whirlpool jacuzzi bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, microwave and fridge.

The Smiddy also contains a wet room and utility area with washer/dryer and dishwasher. For those wishing to keep in touch with the outside world, there is free Wi-Fi. A small studio/viewing room (complete with telescope) provides an inspiring space in which to write, create, star-gaze, bird-watch or simply relax.  A self-contained bike shed provides storage space and a deep freeze. When it’s sunny, drag out the picnic table and chairs!

The accommodation is all on one level with category 2 (assisted) wheelchair access throughout.

The Smiddy has been awarded an Energy Isles Award reflecting our commitment  to reducing energy usage.
